Underwhelmed On First Ever Cruise by Trevyn01

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Emerald Princess / Destination: Alaska - Inside Passage

This was my very first cruise and I was unfortunately underwhelmed. I guess my expectations were too high. I was expecting my robe or towels to be placed in the shape of an animal (swan, beat)on my bed, at least once. I expected the food to be much better. I expected to not have to pay for soft drinks and for there to be better entertainment. For the price of the cruise, ($1,080.00 per person); it definitely could have been much, much better.

I don't know how it could have been any better by bruceh83426270

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Emerald Princess / Destination: Alaska - Inside Passage

The staff on the Emerald is stellar. They were always so helpful. This was our first experience with the Valet Checked baggage on Disembarkation and to not have to see your luggage again until arrival of your final flight was so nice. We will sail Princess again if for no other the reason, the food. Every meal was the best!

Beautiful Destinations and Scenery - Well Maintained Ship by COcruiser44

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Norwegian Pearl / Destination: Alaska - Inside Passage

First of all, I have to thank Sherri Pimental at for her endless hours of EXCEPTIONAL customer Service working with our available vacation dates locating an Alaskan Cruise for our family of five (which included my 91 year old Mom). Sherri is professional, warm, kind, answers and finds answers to every one of our questions about cruising! She is FIRST RATE and the Cruise Expert everyone should use to book their next cruise! No question is too small to ask her, and she always goes the EXTRA MILE and more treating us (her customers) with TLC (tender, loving , care). Once again, this being our second cruise we've booked with Sherri, we just can't thank her enough! We'll try! Sherri, our HEARTFELT thanks to you for EVERYTHING, every minute you spent with us - insuring we had peace of mind heading into our Alaskan cruise with my Mom. You were right that we'd all have a great time! Mom surely agrees. She, too, thoroughly enjoyed the cruise and loved each and every destination. Her comment, "Each destination was like a dream!" Sherri found us the perfect Alaskan Cruise. Our only disappointment came with the crew members on the ship (not Sherri); the Pearl Crew were not welcoming, friendly, or knowledgeable about the ship and events. There was much miscommunication that went on between crew members and guest services (this was echoed by all guests which we met). All guests also noted how the food on the ship was terrible (the worst cruise ship food they had had, especially within the Norwegian lines). Shore excursions (through and the ship) were highlights! Glacier Bay was incredibly stunning! Thank you Sherri for finding us such a fantastic cruise!!

Gorgeous Ship, Wonderful Crew! by zaogirl2002

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Norwegian Bliss / Destination: Alaska - Inside Passage

Great cruise! Gorgeous ship and the staff/service is excellent! They cater to food allergies wonderfully. Food, restaurants, atmosphere was great! Only negative comment that I have is that the spa was very loud and busy even in the designated quiet areas. Other than that, wonderful time!

Very pleasant and relaxing Alaska cruise by Mmelero19

Cruise ship is too big which makes it really impersonal if you are not traveling with a group

Fantastic boat, immaculately maintained by adam52191729

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Celebrity Solstice / Destination: Alaska - Inside Passage

Great work as always. It’s hard to cruise anyone else based on the ship alone. So we’ll maintsined and a great size ship to passenger ratio. You never really have to wait in line for anything and getting on and off the ship was a breeze.

Another trip of a lifetime with Celebrity. The Alaska Vacation by pdem541125

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Celebrity Solstice / Destination: Alaska - Inside Passage

The Alaska trip was right up there with our last Med cruise on the Solstice. Great ship and loved Captain Tasos. The crew was great. Made our Cabin Guy was the best. Always on top of the cabin. He was fantastic. Oleg our waiter at the Murano was THE BEST. I cannot say more how much we enjoyed our time with him. Tespi the bartender outside the Murano was a true Mixologist. I went to visit him for his special drink each night. Yoda from the Oceanview was fantastic. Never missed an opportunity to be helpful to get us anything we needed. The omelet guy was the best. Tony Montana :-) We are planning for the Edge in September 2019 One thing that was a bit bothersome to me was the fact we signed up early for the cruise with a couple packages. I spoke with people who signed up much later and they received much better packages then we did. I don't think it is fair to us who reserve early not to get these perks as well. Might be better to wait to the last minute which I don't like to do. Celebrity should look into this. Otherwise great time>>>

Fantastic Alaskan Cruise by morgannaylor11

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Celebrity Solstice / Destination: Alaska - Inside Passage

Alaska is one of my family's favorite cruises to go on. We have travelled on the Solstice a dozen times and the staff is always wonderful, they are friendly and want to help in any way they can. The ship is always clean and you can always find crew members cleaning things on the ship. You can always find something on board to do in order to keep you entertained and there are options for people of all ages.

Best Vacation Ever by alexmccants

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Celebrity Solstice / Destination: Alaska - Inside Passage

The ports, inside passage, and trip to Alaska was phenomenal in itself. However, when combined with the impeccable service from the Celebrity staff and crew, made the trip one of our best vacations ever. They were always so pleasant and made everything so easy for the customers. Celebrity is a step above the other cruise lines.

Beautiful ship and a very attentive crew. Needed the wonderful physicians on the ship and the nurses due to my husband becoming ill with a bacterial infection. The captain was very entertaining with his announcements and played an exciting volleyball game by rboudreaux42

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Celebrity Solstice / Destination: Alaska - Inside Passage

As beautiful as the ship and my anticipation to visit my 50th state, I didn’t get to do any excursions due to my husband’s illness. I didn’t see any wildlife but I did get to see the Dawes glacier. I met many wonderful crew members in the shops and the most wonderful thing happened, I won the drawing of over $500 worth of merchandise in the last day at sea drawing

Wish I had tried another cruise line for this trip by ftci

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Explorer of the Seas / Destination: Alaska - Inside Passage

There was mold/mildew in the grout in the world's smallest shower. No washcloths were provided until requested. The staff is all about getting more cash for tips over and above what the Ship charges already. Three of the 7 days of this cruise are at sea and most of the 4th also. Don't wast your money on a balcony stateroom.

Beautiful Carnival Cruise by lcosta

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Carnival Legend / Destination: Alaska - Inside Passage

The ports were interesting and driving through the Fjords were certainly a highlight of the trip. Most of the excursions were costly but given that Alaska's economy is based on tourism, I guess that is to be expected. The food and entertainment were excellent on the Legend. The Cruise Director, Jen was truly a gem! We always love the comedy on Carnival too. Way to go, Marty! Victoria was truly lovely too... Overall, a great family trip!
