Alaska - Gulf of Alaska Cruise Reviews

There was something for everyone and was impressed that NCL made this cruise handicapped accessible. The food was mediocre, but plenty to choose from. I was expecting to be served the seafood from Alaska (salmon, halibut) and that was disappointing. The ship is worn and dated. The blanket on our bed, inside the duvet cover was old, worn and discolored.

We loved the trip it’s all worth it but try to book everything in advance. All tours even snorkeling in Ketchikan were awesome.

We would recommend this trip. The scenery was stunning!

The food was good. The entertainment, and specifically the dancers, was great. Activities aboard ship were ample and fun. I loved the dancing and included exercise classes. The cruising by the fjords and glaciers was spectacular. Service is excellent. One issue, which overshadowed cruise at the end. I found out that they charged me for the trip from airport to cruise port. They said it was covered, and it should have been. But then they charged me after giving me a receipt that said $0. The train from airport to port.

Disembarkation was the worst. We were told by Rosario that we were not on the list for "straight to shuttle" when our luggage was tagged the night before with the correct tags. She turn us over to Harvey who was doing 1000 other things and said he would fix it but abandoned us. Luckily, Pam from the vancover port assisted us in getting off of the ship and to our shuttle.

We had excellent service on the ship. The staff was helpful and friendly.

1. Would have liked to used the swimming pool but without steps to walk in or out of swimming pool found it difficult to use. the pool had only ladders to climb and out. And for someone who is mobility handicapped using a walker using ladders it is impossibly difficult 2. Water would turn hot and cold without warning while taking showers. Very uncomfortable when suddenly shower would turn icy cold and then without warning turn hot. Adjusting the control knobs was very difficult. I brought this up with the steward and also with Customer Service. They could do anything about it.

1. problems with controlling hot and cold water while taking showers. water would turn cold after being hot and then turn cold again. Trying to adjust the control knobs was difficult because moving the control valves would suddenly become either very cold or very hot. Told the captain of this problem on meeting him by chance on an elevator; got the impression he knew of it.

Ahmad was amazing with being hospitable and with the cleanliness of our room. All staff around the ship was always professional and willing to help when needed. The Cafe food was decent and was well rounded for all tastes. The desserts were beautiful but lacked taste. Our embarkment was so smoothe but unfortunately we saw that we missed pictures. I was a little disappointed as we still don’t know where they were taken. I felt so smooshed when dining at the Metropolitan but the staff was always willing to help. The food was mediocre and at times bland so we ate more times in the cafe or off the ship when we were at port. The entertainment was good but was hoping for more family fun since we seemed to always be in bad weather.

As a veteran of many cruises, this was very disappointing. In general, the service was poor and surly, especially in the ding rooms and specialty resturants. The lost our reservation for Sabatini’s and refused to compensate us even though we prepaid. Skip the Island Princess.

This cruise was a great way to experience Alaska! Each port had something different to offer and Vancouver is a "must see" city at the beginning of your trip. We took our 2 young adults with us and definitely enjoyed this as a family vacation. The ship was clean & beautiful and had lots to offer in the way of activities & entertainment. The staff was wonderful! The only downfall is that the cruise line needs to include a lounge with current music to appeal to those who want that. Too many oldies for the younger cruisers and for those who like Top 40 music.

We enjoyed a nice welcome.Our room with balcony really made a difference. We actually looked at Hubbard Glacier from our stateroom. Food and drinks were great and staff made it all great

Though we leave in FL, it was our first cruise experience to Alaska. It was awesome and riding with RC - it added the icing on the cake. RC staff was professional and very helpful. Their cooks were excellent and really enjoyed all the menus they served for 7 days. (Only one but very important suggestion- as we were vegetarians, they served Indian bread. It was not at all eatable and bcos of it, we were not able to enjoy most of the Indian gravys. Bread is equally important in food menu and they must get Indian bread instead of doing work around). Otherwise it was one of the best trip we had and we thoroughly enjoyed it.

This was one of my favorite vacations ever! Even my husband who didn't like to cruise has been converted! Aqua is the only way to go! Our room steward was great! Room was always tidy and we had fresh tea and snacks everyday. Aqua dining was amazing! Everyone from the hostess, Sommelier, and servers were fantastic! Our server, I wish I could remember his name was phenomenal! He was in the very back of the dining room. Euglena was also in the dining room and she was so sweet! Just loved her! The spa was also another wonderful experience! We will definitely be booking another Celebrity cruise in the near future!

friendly staffs. food is good, however, if more Chinese food will be better.

This was my 10th cruise with Princess but I will have to admit that the food quality has declined over the years - signs of cost saving on the Princess line.

overall, the cruise was as expected. Young children activities were lacking. Not enough for the 7 -11 year olds. Food was above average, service with Renaldo in the anytime dining was excellent. Ran out of soft serve chocolate mid cruise. 8 yr old unhappy. Not enough healthy food choices for kids.

Great cruise. Would use Royal Caribbean again. Well organized.
