Is it better to fly into LAX or Long Beach airport? I know there’s a shuttle from both and lax is a little farther away

"Better" is very relative in this case. Long Beach airport is much smaller and easier to navigate. It's also much closer to the cruise port. LAX, on the other hand, will have more flight options (possibly including direct flights, depending on where you are starting your journey), and flights are usually less expensive than going into Long Beach. Depends on what's most important to you.

If you can fly into Long Beach it’s 15 minutes from the port and a lot of traffic less than coming from LAX. Plus it’s a tiny airport which makes check in and getting out of the airport super simple.

I had flights going into LAX I had to switch them to Long Beach because the price to get to Long Beach from LAX too expensive
