Something for everyone here. Duval Street is about as subtle as a neon sign, but it's got its own vibe and you've got to respect that, whether it's your thing or not. I'm glad I hit Sloppy Joe's because it wouldn't have felt complete if I hadn't, but the First Flight Brewery on Whitehead Street was more satisfactory to me -- hit it on their first birthday. Open, friendly and with good beer and a great atmosphere. Also, don't miss the Hemingway Rum Company -- probably one of my favorite stops. Friendly folks, very cool space and free rum tasting.

Key West was the most surprising port for me, I wasn't all that excited to stop somewhere still in the states, but our choice to do the Hop On, Hop Off trolley tour was a great one! The day we visited, it was incredibly humid, hitting around 40 degrees Celsius while we were in port, so spending a couple hours not having to walk around with a nice ocean breeze, and an incredible tour guide made the day much more enjoyable. I wish we were in port for a bit longer, but we made sure to try out a frozen, chocolate dipped slice of key lime pie.

It looks like the citizens of Key West have come up with enough signatures to get a referendum on the November ballot to ban all large cruise ships from stopping in Key West. It will be interesting to see how that plays out. We’ve never cruised to Key West before, but have vacationed there several times. I would think all the business owners and their employees that rely on the cruise ships to make a living are hoping this referendum doesn’t pass.

By far my favorite port! There is so much to see and do in Key West. We did an excursion (booked once off the ship and it was cheaper) and then after we walked around doing some sight seeing, tried fried conch, had a drink and did some shopping. It was a very relaxed day. You absolutely must get key lime pie while there. It was amazing!!!

I didn't do an excursion. There were plenty of thing to see and do right at the port. I was able to get a hopper pass for 3 museum for $25. I went to the Aquarium, The shipwreck museum, and the Truman House.

One of my favorite ports of call. We just walked around the island, through the neighborhoods and then walked Duval St. Great restaurants, better people watching if you're the at the right time of year. 😉

We absolutely loved Key West! It's such a cute little island. Literally. It's 2 by 4 miles for the whole thing! We spent some time riding the hop on hop off bus and our tour guide was Kevin and he was great! Went to the Key Lime Pie Company featured on The Profit with Marcus Lemonis. Great pie! Hubby got some ice cream. Duvall Street was a great time. I wish we had more time to spend there. We walked through several museums.

I took a key lime pie making class at Key Lime Pie Co. It was pretty cool to learn about the company's history, how they make their pies, and create my own. We did not prepare the ingredients which I would have enjoyed and was looking forward to but, we did fill and decorate our pies. They were very delicious.
