Galveston had upgraded its port and it is much cooler, faster, professional, and friendly.

We flew to Hobby airport on the Thursday before our sail date. Took Uber to Galveston. On Friday we walked along the sea wall and took the trolley car to downtown Galveston and shopped, ate and had a few drinks. It is beautiful there. We attended the meet and greet at the Spot Restaurant and the food was delicious.

Mardi Gras was going on which made parking and getting around a nightmare! There didn’t seem to be very many porters around to help with luggage.

We normally get a hotel in Galveston, but we decided to stay in Texas City, which worked out well.

Heard of some good restaurants and bars. When returning, we went to Rainforest Cafe and ended up having a really good meal, much better than expected. Since we flew out of Houston, we went and enjoyed the NASA Space Center, we highly recommend it.
