We did not do anything in this port this trip. However, a piece of knowledge we learned was that only Lyft (not Uber) can pick up and drop off right at the entrance, so plan accordingly if you're using one of those services like we did.

Galveston Texas has been my home for almost 56 yrs I luv it here! I also luv the fact that I can leave for a cruise right from home going on my second cruise in April

We love Galveston. Park and walk on to the Bolivar Ferry to cross. You stay on the ferry for the entire trip coming back to where you left the car. It takes about an hour round trip and you can see dolphins, jellyfish, tons of seagulls, etc. If you are brave you can even bring bread or crackers to feed the seagulls on the back of the ferry. This is so much fun and makes excellent photos. It is allowed only from the back of the ferries.
