if I was counting the pennies, I'd do the ferry to Bolivar to check out the old fort and maybe the beach (don't get stuck in the sand) and then walk the strand and maybe see a naked mermaid. if I was loaded, I'd pack all the kids and head to the pleasure pier.

We rented a beach house for the night so we will hit the beach. We also like to participate in the many ghost tours offered in Galveston. They are very interesting!

I love walking the eclectic shops on the strand. Driving down the sea wall.

Great food around the island, both corporate and locally owned. Some have been there for generations like Casey's and Guido's. New gems show up all the time. Our last visit in November we 'found' BLVD on the Seawall. Great dinner prior to a show at the old Opera House back downtown. If you're a fan of Laundry's you can find some of their brands across the island along with their lodging too.

The ghost tours are interesting or hit the beach for a while. You can also ride the ferry or do a dolphin tour. Galveston has lots of activities to keep you busy.
