we sailed at the end of this last February on Ruby Princess. I remember a bit of rain but sunny and warm enough for shorts and t-shirt. Mind you, I am Canadian and we shed our winter clothes as soon as it hits 9°C 😆

January and February are typically the coldest months in Texas. But it could be warmer, as someone else mentioned - it varies greatly. But as soon as you start heading south, the weather gets great! We sailed in January of this year, and we had an inside cabin, and it was chilly. I remember thinking it was fine we didn’t have a balcony because the first sea day to Cozumel stayed pretty chilly and windy. But the sea day on the way back was in the 70-80s and felt amazing.

I have lived in this part of Texas for over 30 years. Probably highs about 60-65° but it could be higher or it could be a lot colder. You will have to check the weather much closer to when you embark. Houston is colder than Galveston in the winter by a few degrees.

We sailed on Liberty OTS in February 2022, and rented a beach home for 3 days prior. 2 of 3 days was pretty cold & overcast, and 1 day was still chilly, but ok to walk on beach and elsewhere. Cruise weather was fine. When we returned to Galveston, the weather was great as we walked to the parking lot. Hope you get decent weather!

As a lifelong Texan I can tell you anything can happen. Texas weather can go from one extreme to the other in no time. It's best to watch the weather closer to your cruise date and dress according to that. Usually your first day after leaving port you are in beautiful weather.

We sailed this past Feb and Galveston was cold, windy and rainy. We needed to wear our coats while there. It was almost too windy to stay on the deck waiting for the ship to depart.

we used to live on Galveston Island. we're from MN so what they considered sweater weather, we were wearing shorts on the beach. I never experience days under about 50 or 60 there and not a ton of storms in the spring. if you're from a colder climate, locals will be quite bundled up, in January, they dress their kids like Maggie from the Simpsons. hope that helps! 😎

By now you've probably picked up on the theme that there's just a good chance it's going to be sunny and warm as it might be icy cold (chance of a freeze will stretch into March). regardless, it always warms up the further south you go and it should be very nice when you get down to Cozumel
