Depending on the ports that you  visit you can sometimes find free wifi in bars or restaurants near the port. I would not recommend using them without a VPN.Also remember to keep your phone in airplane mode to avoid international roaming charges.

There will be wifi available but unless you buy their wifi package all you can use is their app. You can only get wifi by buying their package.

There is no free wi-fi on board.  Unless you really need it for some reason, I would not pay for the packages.  The wi-fi onboard Is horrible.  You have to remember, you are at sea so no towers!!   You can find free wi-fi in most ports if you need it.
