I have a 12noon flight out of MIA and that's pushing it. Also walking off with luggage.

We did a 1050 flight out of Ft Lauderdale after our carnival horizon cruise! Used SAS transportation and he called me while we were still on the ship! Highly recommend. No problems whatsoever at the airport with plenty of time to spare. Only flight I could find nonstop.

Same here, we are not risking it. We decided to eat breakfast not stress. Booked a hotel in FLL with airport shuttle and fly out the next day.

Too tight in my opinion. would have to walk off with no port delays and taxi and have everything go right.

No. that's way too tight. I would not book before 1pm!

Nope you need to have some delay times worked into it. We have always booked 1 day before and after and so glad we have always done that, we have had several mishaps and it saved us

High probability you will be fine. Of course the cruise line recommends later, but they also recommend you only book their excursions so the ship doesn't leave without you. some folks just have no risk appetite.

if the ship is delayed getting in, or the port authorities decide to hold up inspections, it is going to be a huge issue.

I believe the cruise lines recommend flights after 12 pm. Given the crowds at the airports lately and long security lines, I wouldn't risk it.

no way. I hardly made a 1pm flight a few months ago leaving Miami due to customs

Too close for comfort. I live in Miami and FLL is a solid 45 min. drive without any traffic or accidents, which occur regularly on I95 (24/7).

If you have Clear, it should be Ok as you can jump most of the security line. Pro tip - if you don’t have it, they’re usually giving away free trials. Sign up for it right at the airport any you’ll still get through security in under 15 minutes. :-)

Correction: I read the post wrong and completely disregarded FLL and thought you were talking about Miami Intl. So sorry. I would definitely consider getting on a later flight if leaving from FLL.

Absolutely, especially if you have TSA pre-check, which helps. But if you get off the ship at earliest debarkation, you should be fine regardless. I had a flight that left at 10:30am with no issues.

I booked a 3pm flight. Because this is a 16 day cruise we run a higher risk of something happening that throws off the time table for getting into port. So I'd rather play it safe.

From RCI terminal this is totally possible. Our last cruise we booked a later flight out of caution and regretted it. We were off the ship by 9am, to the airport by 9:45, and didn’t have a flight until 5pm, could have taken a much earlier.

yes and no. I've missed a 1pm flight. just saying
