Miami traffic sucks!

What is your hurry to get off ship ?

Answered by cruiseman2 on October 01, 2022

Depends. If you take off your luggage off yourself and self checkout, you might be ok. With customs being so quick now it could be possible. If you have a higher group # on departure, forget it 🤷🏽

we wish we had booked a 10:00. was at the airport via the cruiseline shuttle by 9:00 and had to wait at the airport for hours for our flight. standby was useless. the answer is yes its fine.

Answered by cbyron3 on September 23, 2022

yes! they can not start disembarking until the ship has been cleared by customs. that can take a couple of hours. I would look for a flight around 12 or 1.

Agree with the others, you may be cutting it a little too close. 🤷🏻‍♂️

They recommend arriving at the airport 2 hours early with Miami traffic and the possibility of not getting off the ship until 730-800 at the earliest I wouldn’t chance it but I’ve been told I’m over cautious

If you do the early flight, make sure you take all your luggage and get in line early to depart ship. We did this our last cruise 3 Sep and we rushed just getting there.

It’s doable but super risky. I would advise against it because there is zero room for any mishap or delay.

Book after 12:00pm. Embarkation may take longer based on the number of passengers.

Answered by Rozzy57 on September 25, 2022

I agree. 1pm is the worst at MIA

Answered by XtraviX on September 24, 2022

you will make it.

Answered by Atcer81 on September 24, 2022

you will be fine.

My bf and I cruised in June of this year. Our appointment was 11:30 to 12pm to get on the cruise. he flew in from Houston at 9:15am the morning of. It's risky but it can happen.

Answered by Juju91 on September 23, 2022

@juju91 I think they're asking about the flight home afterwards

Answered by loriad28 on September 23, 2022

If you debark self-assist, get up early, go down to where the line forms you may be able to make it. Personally, I would never want to end my vacation that way.

As everyone else has said, that's really close. We actually decided to fly out the next day and are going to enjoy Miami after we disembark.

Answered by gagesmom314 on September 28, 2022

I never book a flight before noon after a cruise. One time do the engine issues on the cruise ship, we even missed it early afternoon flight.

Answered by SuperDav3 on September 28, 2022

I would never try it. We’ve been waiting to board for hours by ships delayed docking and disembarking.

Well, I hadn’t thought my 9:50am departure from Miami was too early until I read this😉. It was the only non-stop at the time. But I just switched it to a 6:40pm non-stop flight that I found for the same price. Thanks for the heads-up. I never really thought I was cutting it so close until now - but with the hurricanes and traffic delays-I feel much at ease👍
