Stayed at the TRYP by Wyndham. Very nice rooms and lobby. Excessively air conditioned. Bring a sweater if you run cold! This seems to be the norm in Florida though.

Leaving port on the same day as 9 other ships is absolutely nuts. There were thousands of people converting on the same location! Traffic was insane, people were driving nuts, police weren't directing traffic. There has to be a better way. We could see our ship from our hotel room, and yet it took 3 hours to get to the boat. I am sure that many people missed the ship, just because they couldn't get there. It was ridiculous. My advise to you would be leave your hotel room, or get to the ship as early as you can, just so you can relax that you made it to the ship. It was terrible, and caused us so much stress.

We did not do an excursion but purchased tickets for the water taxi and toured around. We got off near the beach and walked around. We had dinner at Lona Cocina Tequileria. It was excellent.

We flew in the morning of the cruise, checked in for the cruise at the airport. All was well, except it seemed like they put every incoming flights luggage on the same carousel. There was hundreds of people waiting and pushing for luggage

It was very well organized and they had plenty of helpful employees at every turn. Everything went smoothly!

Arrive early enough. We were in line the longest we have ever been.

consider taking the Ft. Lauderdale land and sea tour after your cruise. Not only will they bring you to the airport with your luggage, but you will learn more and see more about Ft. Lauderdale.
