Only there over night before the cruise so didn't see anything much but the hotel. Did go to the Boatyard Restaurant that had a fabulous patio on the marina.

We did the Sawgrass boat tour and wildlife center. I would not call this excursion "excellent," but our son had also pretty much had it by the time we disembarked and I would not fault the center for that. There were animals that you could see and my husband held a baby alligator. The tour guide, Laurie, was very smart and knowledgeable, and the tour also provided a free transfer to the airport.

Great cruise ship port. Very close to the airport and the beach, via taxi. Stayed at Westin Fort Lauderdale Beach Hotel one night prior to the cruise. Nice, comfortable, renovated hotel right at the beach.

If you are staying at Ramada eat at "Rendezvous", it's only a 5 minute walk from the hotel and it's much better than the hotel's restaurant. The staff was very friendly, the food was tasty with VERY LARGE portions, and they have a "happy hour" (which is a lot of their day) in which all of their drinks are 1/2 off.

We stayed at the Crown Plaza really nice hotel. We are at Uncle Dewey's for dinner great find great food and service.
