Port Everglades is conveniently located not too far from the airport. The port is run very efficiently.

We were supposed to arrive in Ft. Lauderdale the day prior to our cruise. Our flight was cancelled and we arrived just in time to board the ship the next day.

We stayed 1 night before the cruise and 2 nights after. Always enjoy the beach, water taxi and the many things to do in Fort Lauderdale.

we flew into Fort Lauderdale from Texas Saturday before we disembarked on Sunday. Highly recommend that so there's no problems getting there the day of. We stayed at the extended stay on the main strip with Carrabba's behind it. We would just walk over to Carrabba's for lunch or dinner. Stayed at the same place when we returned since Southwest cancelled our flight back to Texas on Sunday. We had to leave Monday morning. We did not explore anything in the city though

We've been to Ft. Lauderdale dozens of times. Beautiful place to hang out in the sun. We stayed downtown Miami for a couple of nights before the cruise and that was a blast too. It was different (which we wanted) but nice. (I prefer Ft. Lauderdale I think though). One thing to remember... If you're driving, allow at least an extra half hour for traffic right before you get to the ship. It's just very congested. DO NOT TAKE A CAB there. It'll break you. We used Uber from downtown Miami and it wasn't bad at all.

Ft lauderdale was fun. We found a great BBQ place called "Georgia Pig". It was delicious. There was plenty of places to shop and not far from a beach.
