We had never been to Charleston before. It was an amazing place. We took three excursions to plantations and the historic district. Make sure you go the The Market Place which is a five block long building with shirts, baskets, food, wood carvings, trinkets, souvenirs etc. We spent three and a half hours there looking at all the stuff.

Neat city, lots of history up to 200 years old homes. We Did our own walking tour in the Historic area and along the Harbor. The locals were very friendly. After dinner walked again along the Harbor Area, very safe and lighted. Met several great locals and visited with their Austrian Sheppard dogs.
