I just woke up at Holiday Inn Charleston Historic District on Meeting St. Beds are fairly comfy, a/c works well. Loud drunk neighbors down the hall in the middle of the night. Our 2nd floor double queen has an outdoor patio (good for our only smoker). We walked to French Market & back last night, about 3.5 miles total. Now all I want to do is get to the ship & start cruising!😍

A historically interesting city that needs to spend some time and money sprucing up the area around the port.

Went on a tour with Two Sisters and it was very informative. Had a great shrimp and grits lunch at North of Broad restaurant. Fort Sumter very interesting!

We enjoy leaving out of Charleston. It's a easy port to get in and out of and there is lots of local parking to get to the cruise ship at reasonable rates. There are lots of hotel in the area. 5 minute shuttle to the port and some hotels allow you to park on there lot during your cruise. Great Experience and will visit that port again soon.

Very beautiful and historical city. Parking at the port is not all that great, and when you come back they just drop you off between different parking areas carrying all your luggage, so you better remember where you parked. It's a very small port to be bringing in that many people, so embarking and disembarking was brutal. Would like to give this port another try one day, as we only live 3 hours from here. They really need to redo this port though and make it bigger and better.

http://www.park-go.com/mobi/cruise-parking.html Just thought I would share this link with the group because with parking being $20 at the port, you only pay $8 here! 😮. They do not offer shuttles to the cruise ship but you can either take an Uber or Lyft and get there. Also when you download Uber and Lyft you get a $5 discount off of your trip! What we plan to do is use Uber to get to the cruise ship and Lyft to get off of the cruise ship...lol...
