Charleston SC is a beautiful place to visit before your cruise. So much to see and do within walking distance of most downtown motels. Lots of places to eat and points of interest. I recommend coming a day or two earlier than your cruise to explore.

Do not judge this wonderful, historic city by the terminal itself. Charleston is a vacation spot enjoyed by many. Go exploring and see for yourself why the “Holy City” has been named year after year the top U.S. city for the World's Best Awards by Travel + Leisure.

Such a beautiful city. We went to the Market and looked around. Easy walk from the ship. Then we took a horse and carriage ride to see many of the homes in the area. We took a bike taxi to Calhoun house--a fabulous old mansion filled with unbelievable antiques. Then we went to the Waterfront Park yo see the Pineapple fountain. We really enjoyed our day and would recommend all of these activities.

Beautiful city! We took a horse and buggy ride from Palmetto Horse and Carriage Company, post-cruise. $26 per-person. Also if you get a chance eat at Ira's Table at 129 Meeting Street. The crab cakes are out of this world as is the Fried Green Tomato Napolean.

We live 3 hours from Charleston so we didn't do any excursions. I can say if you want to sight see stay in the historic district as parking is scarce.
