I’ve gone to the gardens twice and they are so worth it. Due to the distance I would do it thru cruise. The gardens are nothing like I had ever seen. Well worth the money!

it's a 37 minute commute (each way) from the cruise port to the Gardens, cab rates will run $45 to $55 one way. Check Viator, you might save a buck or two

That is pretty steep. Does it include the afternoon tea?

Good question! The description does not mention afternoon tea. It lists that there is just 2 hours to wander around on your own and then you get back on the bus for a narrated ride around downtown. Looking on the Gardens official website, tickets are $36.50 per person, so I think we will just book it ourselves! Even if a cab is pricey, it will surely total less than $300 to do it ourselves, and no rush.

How long did you spend at the gardens? The official excursion only stops for 2 hours and it seems like a big place to walk around

Yeah, that's a really expensive coach bus ride! Tickets are around $40 (Canadian, not US) if purchased through the website. I can't imagine a taxi would cost $110 each way. So you're definitely better off financially booking on your own. Also, I highly recommend the high tea at Butchard, if you have time. As I recall, it was around $55 or so. Totally worth it!
