We stayed at the Mediterranean Inn. It was a 45 minute ride from the airport and a five minute ride to the port. They had a shuttle to the port for $10 pp. It was within walking distance to the space needle and other attractions. It had a great rooftop terrace with a view of the bay and our ship. Convenient to restaurants and a grocery store.

I’m actually booked at Marriott Waterfront. Stayed there for my first Alaska cruise and it’s very convenient.

Hyatt House Seattle Downtown is near the Space Needle and Chihuly Gardens. A group of ten of us are staying there before our cruise departure and the hotel came highly recommended by a friend who has often stayed there.

Keep in mind Seattle has 2 cruise ship terminals. Pier 66 and Pier 90 and they are 3 miles apart. Homewood Suites is all suites and is 11-15 minutes walk to the Space Needle and Queen Anne.

Answered by XJASPX on April 09, 2022

the Marriott or the Edgewater. both are a very short walk from the ship.

Answered by daveinmontana on April 09, 2022

I’m staying at the Marriott water front. It has has the same address as the pier for the cruise ship. I’m not looking for any trouble before my vacation. The crime spike in Seattle is extremely scary.

Anyone taken the train in Seattle? Do you feel that it’s relatively safe?

Answered by Fun40s on April 01, 2022

I quite like the Crown Plaza. It’s a short uphill walk from the subway station (Think San Francisco streets) Always felt safe there. Starbucks close by and a Theater 5th Ave I believe if you need entertainment. High floors have some nice views. This time I’m staying at the Courtyard. Find pioneer square a little sketchy at night but wanted to be close to the water (Fish & Chips) and the Bainbridge Island Ferry.

the worst area is 4th Avenue, it's where the riots were

Answered by dvc5799 on April 09, 2022

@Fun40s you can take the lightrail from the SeaTac airport to the Westlake station downtown, then an Uber from there to the terminal (if it’s pier 66, you could walk… but it’s not around the corner. Pier 91, I would not attempt to walk, it’s in magnolia). It’s pretty safe, I take a often. Just stay alert as you would in any city.
