This was a new port for us and is definitely worth a repeat visit. We took the trolley tour--very informative and stopped at the mission. There were several drop off points if you wanted to wander around the city--so many things to do including flea markets, arts shows, walking on the beach, etc. The city had a tent set up with lots of info on walking tours, where to eat, etc. We enjoyed walking along the famous wooden pier. This is a tender port.

On a previous cruise we booked a "trolley" tour that only gave us about a half hour at the Mission. This time, we skipped booking a Princess tour and took Lyft directly to the Mission. After plenty of time there (a couple of hours), we walked leisurely the 3 miles or so back to the water shuttle dock, stopping at the courthouse to enjoy the view from atop the tower (free) and a big scoop of ice cream at McConnell's on State Street along the way. Also, the city has had an information tent on the sidewalk near the water shuttle dock and a free tourist shuttle bus to the courthouse & other stops the last couple of times we've been there.

We booked a sightseeing bus excursion early and had a enjoyable time. There is a small agency that uses a stretched chop 1932 open air coup painted yellow that holds 8 people. Those who booked this said it was a blast.

30 minutes to tender to the dock, once you are actually on the tender boat. We didn't get up early for tender tickets, so our turn was approximately 2 hours after the tender services started. Santa Barbara had a downtown market and a lively group of businesses on State Street. We enjoyed walking and looking around. We had limited time available due to the tender timing. Would rate this better if we had a full day to enjoy in the port.
