Although our excursion was cancelled the night before due to low turn out, we made the best of our day on our own, rented golf carts & enjoyed a stop off at the Sandbar for a delicious snack! Luckily we had done some research and knew what to do as a plan B.

There’s so much to do on the island, we went for a 8 mile hike up to the ridge and back. Although most cruisers probably wouldn’t do this, the views are spectacular and doing it is totally worth it. We have been to this island many times before and I’ve done golf carts and even just walk around. We have not had a bad day yet on Catalina Island. I also definitely suggest going to the fudge shop. We thought we may have bought enough to bring some some home, but we did not.

I loved Catalina! It was a beautiful island with lots of cute shops and restaurants. But, the real reason I loved it is because my boyfriend proposed there! I said yes!

Golf carts sold out fast unless you had a prior reservation. There's a second golf cart rental facility to the right, just past the US Bank building, that had more carts available, though.

We rented a golf cart which was fun to drive around at our leisure. We actually did not need the entire two hours though. Not much else to do unless you snorkel take a tour.

Golf cart is pretty much a must for this island, $120 for 2 hours of a 6 people golf cart, you'll get a free extra hour

The golf cart rental was a nice way to tour the island. The scavenger hunt will likely make it a little more interesting. Not much to see but there were nice views of the Ship and the city itself. The nature center was pretty cool and FREE. The kids loved the beach area and the inflatable play area in the water. They said the water was “ice bucket challenge” cold but that didn’t stop them from going in. Lol. We also parasailed which was A LOT of fun. Overall, it was a very nice experience.

Loved it! We did the scuba diving (the one where you don't need to be certified) and found it to be completely exhilarating! The instructor was fantastic and made our first scuba experience very enjoyable.
