Great port and an awesome city! Make sure you arrive a day earlier so you can enjoy some of the finest cuisine in the world. I love New Orleans! I maybe a little biased because it’s my hometown.

New Orleans is an amazing city. We were lucky to be able spend some time in town after the cruise. We got a deal on a room at the Westin (great hotel) with some incredible views of the Mississippi. It’s also just off Canal St., and because of that it’s right on the Canal Street trolley lines that can connect you everywhere. Stopped at Ruby Slipper for breakfast. Use an app to pre-book your place in line or it will be a long wait. Food was fantastic. You must visit, the French Market, Frenchman Street, The Garden District, and of course Bourbon Street. For the garden district take a quick tour on the st Charles cable car and then go back for specific parts such as the Audubon park, etc.

Best dang city in America! Try Acme Oyster house and Cafe Du Monde! Culture and food make this city what it is. Bourbon street is a must, try a Grenade at tropical isle and a hurricane at Pat O'Briens.

New Orleans is my favorite city in the world. I was fortunate enough to live there for 13 years, until Hurricane Katrina forced my move to Tennessee. I still go back as often as I can for the wonderful food, people, music, festivals, culture, and I'll mention the food again. :-). I have found it to be an easy embarkation port to cruise from. Love this place!

Cruising out of The Big Easy is an extra treat to any cruise. The city is a lot of fun and starting your trip on The Mississippi River is really amazing especially when you discover how long it takes you to go through the delta to the Gulf. Super cool.
