I am born and raised in Baton Rouge and had no idea ships stopped there. I have only seen barges moving merchandise from the levies. If you haven't yet, visit the Old state capital and the USS Kidd.

Beautiful place. Your the state capital. Go to the mall of Louisiana. Visit the many fine restaurants or go to the casino. It’s an awesome place and you feel a little safer than in New Orleans.

Had a problem getting into our dock site so we never got off the ship until 1:30. Toured the USS Kidd. Would have liked more time in Baton Rouge. We had to be back on board by 5:30.

Loved the USS Kidd battle ship tour and museum. I also took the Battle of Baton Rouge civil war battle field tour with a stop at Fort Donaldson.

Excellent Cajun Pride Ride in a swamp boat to feed marsh mellows to alligators and raccoons on shore. I bought the T-Shirt.

The plantation where sugar was processed and where slaves lived was very interesting and sad.

USS Kidd museum and tour as well as the Arts and Science Museum are great excursions

We did the city tour here. We stopped at the Capitol museum, which was closed on Sunday, but ACL had made arrangements to have it open just for us. It was terrific and we felt very special to have a whole museum to ourselves!

We did the swamp tour here. The guide had a very heavy Cajun accent and was very funny. He was the ‘real deal’. We got very up close and personal with a lot of gators.
