The reason I enjoy American Cruise Lines so much is that you have a feeling of community with the other guests and staff that you don’t get on the bigger cruise lines. Ditto for the immersive activities on the ship. You really learn and experience the river - you’re immersed in the culture from the food to the guest lectures to the entertainment. It’s all about the Mississippi River.

Ship experiences
Food and Dining

Dining room had a menu for all three meals. We really enjoyed the quick lunch option out on the sun deck.
Onboard Activities
5 out of 5
The gym is split up between two rooms and had plenty of equipment and was never crowded. The sun deck up top was very nice on our warm days.
Entertainment
5 out of 5
The lectures on this ship are what made this trip so special. We had speakers on board who were extremely knowledgeable about the places we were visiting. It made the experience so much more enriching. We throughly enjoyed Bill and Laura providing entertainment a few nights. We had a guest speaker/singer/comedian one night (Judy Davis) and she was very good.
Children's Programs
No children on our sailing
Service and Staff

Service was very attentive. They have a nightly happy hour with an open bar and a large selection of appetizers. Many nights I went down to dinner already half full.
Ship Quality

Brand new ship with a very nice layout. All the rooms are beautifully furnished. Lots of small rooms off the elevator for having small get togethers or playing games.
Cabin / Stateroom

One of the best room layouts I have ever had. The bathroom was full size with a full sized shower. More than enough storage
We did the swamp tour here. The guide had a very heavy Cajun accent and was very funny. He was the ‘real deal’. We got very up close and personal with a lot of gators.
Very nice tour. Appreciated that they discussed the experience of the slaves and had several cabins that were examples of what life was like back then.
Did an airport transfer that included a city tour prior to heading to the airport. The guide was informative and shared a lot of history of the city. Really enjoyed our stop at the cemetery.
