This was an interesting and attractive island. The water around it is a beautiful blue with turtles and other wildlife. There was a small market near the beach which sold souvenirs and handicrafts. The tour on the bus was interesting but we couldn't see some sites that we were meant to due to time constraints. Be warned that to get to and from the island you need to go in the tender boats which you need to wait a long time to board. Also they can be quite rough with the choppy sea around the island. If you get seasick be aware of this and take seasick medication.

Not a lot to do here, we took the tour to the secret grotto . Was very informative but the grotto was just a small cave. Local owner gave extremely funny demonstration on how traps are used with no English spoken

Also very pretty. Yes we did do an excursion. It was lovely to go to a native village and be taught about their live style.

My sister and I did not visit this port but my niece went exploring and was most impressed. Finally got to swim with the turtles.

We absolutely loved our morning at Lifou. A short tender ride, followed by a 15-minute walk across the island, brings you to a gorgeous snorkeling area. Be aware though that only 100 tickets are issued by the locals for the morning and afternoon sessions of snorkeling to protect their natural treasure, so avoid disappointment and order your tickets on-board.

There was a nice welcoming ceremony with our captain and their local authorities--dancing and the exchange of gifts for the first time the Maasdam had visited this port.

There’s not a lot of tour options for this port. There is a lot of sights within walking distance (very hilly) and a lot of hawkers - hair braiding, massages, a small amount of items for sale at the wharf. Tours are in large numbers and buses, destinations have their own sale items. Very much a monopoly on tours as there are no taxis.
