Our excursion to Teahata Beach was cancelled so we walked the very small town and found a place to swim and snorkel. would like to go back again.

Raining here so I stayed aboard, hubby donned his rain coat and walked the island. Saw sharks and a fishing dog! It is flat, not much to see but it is pretty.

Another hot day. The heat was unbearable.

Ship wouldn’t let us off. Tender port

A series of atolls, the relatively flat islands were not very different from those experienced in the Bahamas and other areas. However, the locals were genuinely friendly and anxious to engage us. The cultural tour was very interesting as we learned the history of this archipelago and enjoyed their white sand and clear water of their beaches.

Great snorkeling at the Blue Green Lagoon

Did the guided ATV ride to the northern part of the island. Saw the old light house and the airport. After the ride had a fruit juice and rum drink. Visit with a delightful couple who do the ATV rides. She is the guide. Admits to liking to drive fast! They shared with us school information. He admitted to living in Papeete. TOO big of a town. He could not wait to return to the peace and quit of Fakarava.
