Loved this city! We went to the museum, Cuba Street, the tram and the Botanical Garden.

Although the port is quite close to downtown, you are not allowed to walk from the ship. There are frequent and reliable shuttle buses - which are free. Wellington has a lot to see in a compact downtown area. The city has made great use of its waterfront and there is great greenery in the botanical gardens which you can access for free. A nice place to visit

The excursion in Wellington was to a sheep farm and saw a sheep sheering demonstration. The driver/guide was entertaining and so was the farmer. I really enjoyed the demo and the scenery at the farm and driving back and forth.

Our first day off ship. Wellington was beautiful and the shuttle bus drops you and picks you up right in front of Parliament.

Car Museum great at $25 direct vs over $200 excursion. I “get” ship needed exclusive bud to/from, but out of line with easy doing direct. Sorry, Nelson, not Wellington

For us this stop was about "Lord of the Rings." We took a tour of the WETA studios and workshop as well as seeing serva location around Wellington where filming occured. I learned that WETA is a shortened Maori phase for "God of Ugly things" This workshop tour was amazing about how this company supplies so many creations for various film productions.
