The second best stop on this cruise. Went to the aquarium which was a great experience. Then walked around town.

Opted for the wine tour. The bus driver was interesting with facts and presentation of the area. The wineries were good. The first winery was not on the same page with the bus line. We were taken on a tour of the valley for an amount of time until the winery became prepared. This eliminated the planned time to see the Art Deco city.

Not enough time but loved what time we had

Saw the art Deco buildings in town after we spent day on private excursion sampling wines at 2 wineries. Was nice visit.

We had shuttle buses (FREE!) that took us from the ship to the heart of Napier which had a mall of shops. We had a game of mini-golf where the bus dropped us off at the foreshore and there were markets on the foreshore a short walk away.

Hawks Bay wine trail was fun, but our guide deviated to show us some of the devastation from the eerier cyclone eye-opining!

Napier is very art deco. They take is seriously, even dress in that style at the visitors center. A jazz band played on the dock as we returned to ship. The aquarium is worth the walk along the beach. We discovered that the busses back to the ship also pick up at the aquarium.
