we got the tender boats /catamarans from the ship across to airlie beach, gettibg off at shute harbiur, took about 20 minutes, then RCC had shuttle bises (actually coaches)b that took us into the airlie beach town centre, both were included. it was approximately a 10-15 min shuttle ride to the town. beautiful costal town. we booked a bus tour with the tour guide from driftwood tours and it was amazing. she took us to all if the best look out places/ i have some out of this world stunning photos that i took of over the ocean. the main st is pretty too with friendly staff. they have a market on the foreshore when the ships are in, i grabbed some great peesents to take back home to my fa,miky :) really loved airlie :)

We snorkeled in the Great Barrier Reef. The excursion was well organized, but we were rather disappointed in the area of the reef that we had access to. There was a lot of coral bleaching and damage and not many colorful colors visible. It was also off of a pontoon, and there were many people there, making snorkeling difficult.

Pretty Airlie Beach - required tendering to the port here. Booked a scenic flight over the Whitsundays and Great Barrier Reef with Viator. Outstanding! Spent the rest of the day wandering the one Main Street. Don’t miss exploring this seaside gem if it’s on your itinerary.
