Make sure to go up the gorgeous Simpson River Valley to Coyhaquie. Beautiful scenery, waterfalls, river gorges, variety of terrain and biomes.

We did an excursion to Coyhaique and the Rio Simpson Park. We got to Coyhaique too early for the handicraft vendors in the plaza so we had a very short time with them when they set up. The park was interesting but overall the tour was just okay. Something must have changed to switch the order of the tour because we were supposed to sample Chilean snacks at a restaurant in Coyhaique at the end but no one said anything about it and we went there first. However we were all given a $23 refund on our account so I guess that was why.

We booked a private tour for our family with Chacabucotours. It was a scenic photography tour without guide. But the chauffeur didn't stop at all the stops, and we didn't have the opportunity of to get out at all of the scenic stops mentioned, so we couldn't take pictures of all the stops. Also, when we went on the bus it turned out they had 9 more people on the bus. That was not the agreement we had. Would not recommend them. Chacabuco is beautiful, beautiful nature.

Pleasantly surprised here. THe waterfalls with the rainbow on it, the folk dancers, and the panoramic lakes were all outstanding.

Took a horse riding excursion from the ship which was good (although many levels so just walking) but the scenery was beautiful and the horses excellent
