Port uninspiring, took shared taxi and had a lovely drive up to Coyhaique, but not enough time to explore Coyhaique. All too rushed.

Walk through the Patagonian rain forest to waterfall and glorious sunny view of lake and mountains was a highlight in our lives. Lamb feast made it even better. Outstanding lady guide too!

We were able to spend the night in the port area with beautiful mountains coming right into the water. It was lovely sitting on our deck. The ship offered extra tender rides that evening - but we choose to just enjoy the scenery and wait until morning for our Puerto Chacabuco and surroundings. Again very lovely visiting Aiysen and the Rio Simson National Reserve.

Do a tour, get a taxi, but the walk to the market is doable, just figure out your best route.
