Did the Steven King Tour.. So much fun.. I highly recommend it

This was a disappointing stop. The downtown dock was convenient, but the city itself is rather unimpressive. We joked that would make some t-shirts for sale that said "Bangor - nothing to write home about". It just didn't fit the Maine Coast and Harbors theme of the cruise. We did do a good excursion here called the Devils Half Acre which presented the History of Bangor through the eyes of a Brothel Madam.

Take the Stephen King Exploration tour!

You must do the Stephen King's Derry, Maine Exploration. It is given by a man who has personal antidotes of the author. Even if you haven't read his stories or seen his movie adaptations you will find this excursion enjoyable. The driver also takes you through the Mount Hope Garden Cemetery and gives you a local's view of places to stop in town.
