Really wanted to visit this UBESCO site but it was 1 hour 45 min there and 1 hour 45 minutes back We did Antigua Guatemala on your own. We received a map that was absolutely no good. Even the locals found not figure it out. So a lot of time was wasted. We had difficulty find our way back to the bus corral. We saw that a lot of the excursion guest hired a local guide from our first stop at the jade factory

Went on an excursion to Anitgua, which is a very old city. It was formed in the 1500s and it was very interesting, but he 1.5 hour bus ride to get there was a little tiring.

The excursion bus had such darkly tinted (pinkish) windows, you could not see out in bright daylight. Returning at night, nothing could be seen.

Excursion took us to market square in Antiqua followed by meals in two establishments. Market square beautiful with lots of vendors. Meals were very good and filling. Volcanic mountains beautiful.

We did NCL tour of Antigua and it was nice. Jade museum is a joke- basically a lady tells you how she made it rich discovering the jade. The museum is maybe 50ft long and they don’t even send you to it directly, you primarily end up in the giant store selling jewelry and jade nicknacks. The lunch was very good that came with the tour.
