This was my second favorite port of the journey. The scenery is beautiful and you can see several volcano's, one of which was smoking. The scenery is tropical and lush and the climate is warm and humid. We took an excursion to look at Mayan artifacts that has been recovered in the local area and are located in two separate museums. The tours were interesting and we viewed my historical native Mayan artifacts and sampled some Guatemalan rum and coke. Yummy!

We enjoyed the coffee plantation and Antigua. There were lots of street venders but this is part of culture. Lots of hand beautiful woven scarves.

We stayed at the little area right at the dock. It has many vendors and was enjoyable. We didn’t want to do the long bus ride on all the excursions.

Antigua was nice but long ride. Port is very small. Cold in Antigua so bring a sweater!

Beautiful country. We took an excursion to climb Pacaya Volcano. It has amazing views of other active volcanos. Make sure you take a sweater if you go to the higher elevations because, believe it or not, it is significantly cooler up there than at the port. Consider yourself warned! :)

Wandered around the port area and saw some traditional fashions at an outdoor show while sipping a cold beverage. My wife did a bit of shopping as there was a lot in the immediate area

Went to Antiqua, many vendors annoying us, felt unsafe and choose not to use our 20 minutes to sightseeing on our own. Jade talk was a waste of time. Very disappointed in this excursion.
