The observatory on the Joy was a joke. They brought out folding chairs for hundreds of people packed in like sardines that could only see the back of someone's head, no way to see the ship entering the canal. Don't bother going there, find another spot to watch entering the canal.

Amazing to see the whole transit and I have been reading David McCullough's book on the Panama Canal.

This was a highlight, passing through the locks was great. No excursions here (none available or needed).

Rained in the morning for about 10 minutes and then it was nice, but cloudy, the rest of the trip.
