Only stayed in the little shopping area at the pier. There was a restaurant with a pool, but no one got in so just returned to the ship & let my daughter enjoy the pool.

Had a blast at the Corona Beach Party, everything was right there at our disposal with $10 massages!!! Also if you want you can walk into town a lil ways and have some of the best authentic mexican food Mexico has to offer!!!!

We decided not to do an excursion in Progresso and just catch the free shuttle. Make sure you visit Massages by Maria and do the $9.00 tour of the city with Vincent!!!

We did the excursion through Royal Caribbean to Chichén Itzá. It was amazing!!! Our tour guides were very knowledgeable and did a wonderful job. Only complaint would be that Royal did a good job to create a sense of urgency to buy excursions prior to the cruise sail date, and then gave a 10% discount to those who booked onboard. I said something to the customer relations about how that was pretty shady and was told that they would have a manager get in touch with me. Never happened.

Most don't explore this port enough to appreciate it.. get off the shuttle and take a 9 dollars city bus tour..then walk to the beach and get a 10 dollar massage...smile at the local.people..this is their real-life. ..remember ..your in the REAL Mexico here...appreciate the surrounding that may not be like yours at home..

The port it self isn’t scary as some may say. You take a short walk down the pair to a small “shopping area” then board a shuttle bus to downtown progresso bus station. There is shopping, eating and opportunities to do excursions. We chose to do a tour of progresso tour since we got off the ship so late. It is a very run down city. I never felt unsafe, but again we did an excursion. My husband is sent to Mexico often for work and said he’s never seen a town this rundown. With all of that being said, I’m glad I went, but I wouldn’t go back. If I came to this port again, I would stay on the ship.
