Lidias Tacos at La Bufadora are a must, best tacos, ever, in my opinion. Holding the baby tigers was fun and memorable. Would go back for the tigers and tacos, lol. Ensenada was better than I expected (been there before, back in early 90’s, pre-passport), and so I had low expectations, but our tour guide, Kenya was her name, was great. We wanted to do more things while there but hadn’t booked anything other than the La Bufadora adventure, which ended early (we booked the earliest excursion). I did not feel comfortable with venturing off too far on our own without a tour guide. We wanted to go to the popular bars but could not figure out (on our own) where they were located -walking from port. We did walk up and down “the pier” which was fun. I would suggest to stay street smart while in Ensenada (as you’d do in most places you visit, including any big city USA) but it’s not a bad place to visit...just maybe not with kids?

A small walk in town was enough to feel the awesomeness of one of Mexico's best "border" cities.

Ensenada itself wasn’t that exciting but the people were really nice. We took a taxi and did the Canopy tour at Las Cañadas which was actually pretty challenging but a lot of fun. We also went to La Bufadora/the Blowhole. Yes, there were a ton of vendors but they were nice and had some great deals. You have to check out the street artists. We purchased a couple of pieces from Ary. She paints pieces on the spot right near the Blowhole. She is very talented

You don’t need to take a shuttle for all the fun seafood when you arrive ar Ensenada, just walk to your left and hit up the boardwalk and taste real Mexican mariscos, that’s if you’re not doing any excursions like us... we just wanted to eat around all the different restaurants

Ensenada has been cleaned up. Almost unrecognizable. Gone are the beggars and street urchins and filth. The shops and restaurants (fish tacos are prime time from the baja gulf) were fun, interesting, almost laid back. There are some excellent Mexican art and clothing stores if you know what you are looking for. Otherwise every known piece of Mexican folk art and toys are well represented and if you know your bargaining skills, well priced. From people seriously considering to NEVER go into Ensenada again, to people who would return in a heartbeat.....it's a big boy port with lots to offer.

We did not do an excursion. We simply got off the ship and walked into town.

We did the excursion to the Bufadora! It was awesome. Walked to see the natural geyser! Did some walking and shopping from street vendors! Awesome experience! Got to visit the location where the famous margarita was invented!
