The actual port in Calica is as scenic as a gravel pit. Short taxi ride into Playa del Carmen easy with nice beach and shops.

I did a Jeep ride to the beach and to the caves, It said it was for 4.5 hours and then I plan on going shopping. The jeep ride took 7 hours, so I had no time to shop.

worst port I have ever been. The entire stop here was a waste of time. Not well organized for the taxi transportation

Our trip for Snorkeling was canceled without notice. We managed to find another trip to Tulum Ruin which was a nice trip but taking little too long. Again we managed to take a trip ourself to the Playa del Carmen between 4-6 pm. Otherwise, we would not recognize that we had visited Mexico.

don't buy from the vendors at the port. everything is so much cheaper in cancun or playa del carmen
