This port allowed our ship to dock at the pier. We did the NCL excursion to the baby turtle farm so we immediately boarded a coach for about an hour drive to the location. For me, the turtle farm seem to lack academic gravitas. The proprietor was introduced as a "marine biologist" but his academic credentials were never mentioned (and we were told he doesn't speak English). In spite of that, my wife absolutely LOVED the opportunity to release the baby turtle into the ocean and was probably her favorite activity of the entire cruise.

Tour guide was good but mic did not work so could not hear guideeveb though he tried to speak loudly. Took over an hour before an exchange bus arrived at second stop. Surprised to see no people on streets or in restaurants in the Diamond district. Tour guide said it was not the most desired place these days. Little spooky!

We were very disappointed when NCL dropped Costa Rica and Nicaragua and added this port. We almost did not get off the ship for safety reasons, but in the end decided to check it out. It was much nicer than we had anticipated and ended up having a good day.

Released the turtles in the ocean. It was cool. EXCEPT, part of the excursion was shopping. We were forced to go to a jewelry store and that was it, then back to the boat. The guide said we weren’t allowed to go any where else.

Take a cab, do not book thru the NCL. 4 people shared a cab, went to the arch, shopping and a great lunch . $60 total, cab ride and the cab driver stayed with us as a guide

The port was very dirty. And we got food poisoning at a local restaurant. It just felt grimy and unwelcoming.

We enjoyed the cliff divers but wish we saw more of them.

Not very walkable.

Second high light for us. We had always wanted to see the cliff divers and they delivered a great show. This trip also included some higher exertion walking with ramps and steps.

We hired a taxi driver to show us around the area. He was proud of this area, so he gave us an amazing tour both by car and walking to see great sites!
