We considered booking the the Road to Hana tour through NCL but didn’t know if it was a large or small group plus it was not available for the first day and we didn’t want to book on day 2 and be rushed getting back to the cruise port on time. We decided to book a small group Road to Hana Tour through Valley Isle Excursions. We booked in advance directly through their website. Josh, our tour guide, picked us up at the shopping center across the street from the cruise port in a spacious air conditioned passenger van. He had already picked up 10 other people before the stop to get us. It was a very long day but we really enjoyed hearing all the interesting stories from Josh and the beautiful scenery and stops along the way. It was stress free and relaxing. They provided a tasty box lunch with a beverage. You have a couple options to choose from and we chose the caesar salad with chicken and it also included a cookie for dessert. We were glad we decided to book this tour through them and would recommend to others.

This is hands down one of the best memories of my life. We rented a convertible and adventured the road to Hana. I canNOT detail how completely amazing it was. Download the Shaka guide app though. I repeat. Download the shaka guide app. You need it. We wouldn't have enjoyed it even half as much without the app to help us out. It's an exhausting day but I would do it again and again. Next time we will have a hotel in Hana and do it half and half.

I’ve been on this cruise twice already and I am definitely disappointed about arriving on this side of the island because there is absolutely nothing to do unless you book an excursion or a tour. Other than the two malls there is absolutely nothing to do and there’s nowhere to walk to to really enjoy yourself. Lahaina or Hana are the best locations hands down on this island. Once you arrive on this side of the island south Lahaina beach is the closest. It’ll take 45 minutes to drive there and 1hr 18 minutes by public transportation

Gorgeous island! This was a honeymoon cruise and it was unforgettable. Did a helicopter tour, it was very expensive, but was worth it as a once in a lifetime event.

Road to Hana has 600 curves with 50 one lane bridges so traveling the beautiful mountainous road twice is a bit much. We booked with Temptation Tours and did the helicopter flight to Hana and the luxury van down the mountain. Wonderful combination and views. No motion sickness. This was a great option for us. It was worth the extra money! If you do the BEST OF MAUI I suggest you book with NCL. We booked with another company and we were very disappointed. Maui Tropical Plantation great for buying matching clothes for family pictures.

Do your research beforehand and book tour either with cruise or on your own. We have been sailing a lot in Caribbean, so we’ve been used to just book a tour in the harbor upon arrival, but here, just a few overpriced tours that promise a lot more than you actually get. Go to the turtle beach close by or book through an agency to see the island. The island is very beautiful though.

No excursion. Rented a car and did Road to Hana and went to West Maui to a beach.

The port was a cargo port. Had to walk about 1/2 mile to get to our bus for our tour. The park and Road to Hana was good. Doing the back side was not as pretty
