Hilo tour for $239.00 “Up in the clouds” was a Tour I would never had taken, had I known it would be 5 hours in the tight van with 12 people crammed in. We ALL complained at the end. There was not adequate explanation describing the Tour. We were so sorry we took it.

Ship docks in an industrial area. Can take a walk to local park or maybe a tour. We walked to local park. Probably a 4 mile round trip hike

We toured the 2018 lave flow event that originated near the Hawaii Volcano National Park. This excursion needs some work. Guide did not provide much feedback when touring the 2017 Lava Flow sites on the Big Island. A more seasoned tour guide would correct this issue.

Our helicopter ride with Paradise Helicopter was cancelled due to weather. We caught an uber to the Big Island Candies....OMG the candy was incrediable!! Be sure to ask for any sample you desire. Jet was the best at assisting us in making our selection. Our next destination was a ride to the farmers market but that changed! Our uber driver, Rex Riley, became our personal tour guide! He offered to drive us to the popular spots with narration and history! Stopped at rainbow falls took the scenic route to Akaaka State Park followed by a visit to Kaumana Caves, where we walked inside a spectacular lava tube. The drive was incredible and despite the cancellation of the helicopter ride we made the best of it! If by chance your excursion gets cancelled or you want a half/full day adventure outside of a traditional tour Call Rex (904-607-1811) he will put together a day of fun!

Took the volcanoes National Park and rainbow falls tour. It was what we expected but nothing too exciting. Rainbow falls is just a photo stop and the lava tube in the park was just a walk through a cave

Bought a tour through hawaiicruiseexcursions.com and our tour guide was ok, but most of the stops were gift shops and the volcano was a little underwhelming. Check YouTube for all your stops first to make sure they are interesting enough to purchase

Be prepared for rain! It didn't prevent us from enjoying Volcano National Park - but it might have. Although, not as much as had the government NOT voted for the budget!! (We weren't sure the night before if we would be going or not.). I guess it rains there A LOT!!

Took a cab and visited the beautiful botanical gardens. Then came back into town for a bite to eat and jumped back on the ship. Hilo wasn’t our favourite stop but we found it beautiful nonetheless.
