We docked at Fusina and loaded the bus at about 6:30 to make a 12:30 flight at the airport. I think the ordinary immigration and customs control station is not open at that time, so we had a 30 minute drive to the airport. Early arrival at the airport means that none of the check in desks are open, but we were lucky to be in a priority line and we asked the agent if we could get on the 9:30 flight. She said yes but we would have to go back to the ticket counter to get rebooked. The only thing hard about that is that the ticket counter serves all airlines and has two agents. No line, so we were rebooked/reticketed and sent back to the check in agent. No problem there and the lounge is nice enough.

We chose not to take it planned excursion, but wonder about on her own, and that was great. Be careful pick pockets and make sure that you have clothes that have zippered pockets or a bag that is free proof. We literally got lost wandering around the canals and the small areas and had a wonderful time. There is so much to see and if you need to move about water taxis are great fun

Too much time spent on bus to and from! Was a 12 hour excursion with 5+ hours on bus. Very crowded. Glass factory nice, lace factory was just a visit to a store!

We got an extra day at this port and spent the day at Chioggia. We spent 3 extra days at Venice at the end of the cruise and thought spending a day at Chioggia was a great use of time (5-10min) walk or cruise for the ship vs 1.5hs to Venice. Would recommend it.

Fascinating city — Venice. However ship docked 1,5 hour boat trip each way from Venice making excursion time excessive and uncomfortable.

After debarkation we spend 2 days in Venice at a boutique hotel on the main canal. It was very busy here but full of shops and wonderful restaurants.
