the port Chioggia is very isolated from other tourist attractions. Almost impossible to get around without booking an excursion

We stayed a week in Venice before the Cruise began so we were able to see a lot of attractions that Venice has to offer.

poor transportation arrangements to Venice for short visit

Didn't do Venice so stopped a Trieste for a few hours.

We did not stop here. We were only informed of this upon embarkation. Created confusion and stress as we scrambled to change pre-paid excursions booked through Viator. Since we found out less than 24 hours before the planned excursions, it made it unnecessarily more difficult to cancel; Why couldn't NCL have been up front about this. They knew about the itinerary change at least 2 weeks before! We ended up taking a 2 hour bus ride from Trieste to get to a boat that took us to Murano. Couldn't spend any time in Venice. Most of the day spent in traffic. Venice was the whole reason we chose this cruise. Extremely disappointing. Ruined our cruise frankly.

Beautiful city, wish we had more time here. Walk around and get lost.

Fascinating city — Venice. However ship docked 1,5 hour boat trip each way from Venice making excursion time excessive and uncomfortable.

We got an extra day at this port and spent the day at Chioggia. We spent 3 extra days at Venice at the end of the cruise and thought spending a day at Chioggia was a great use of time (5-10min) walk or cruise for the ship vs 1.5hs to Venice. Would recommend it.

Had to cram a lot of sightseeing in a short period of time given that our pre boarding day was wasted by the inefficient process

I enjoyed the port city of Cioggia was even better than Venice, with a comfortable, non-touristy feel, easy to get around, and beautiful churches to explore.
