If you can afford it, better to get a private tour in a smaller vehicle rather than the large groups and buses through the cruise line.

Took the tour offered by the ship to Sorrento. It was fine and the pizza was good. Italy is just packed with tourists. That was the only problem in all the three Italian cities we visited.

Here I would suggest booking the excursion for the Amalfi coast and Pompei.

We have been to Naples a couple of times before. We chose the hop on, hop off bus, which is very good.
