We love wine and had a really had a good time at the Medoc vineyards and wine tasting excursion. The bus ride wound through a beautiful countryside past some other beautiful, majestic older wineries.

We took the 2-hour drive to Bordeaux which passes through the small villages where the wineries have their huge and fabulous castles and vineyards. Once in the city of Bordeaux, our guide took us to the high points and then let us explore on our own. There are small shops, indoor and sidewalk cafes where you can enjoy food and wine, and a couple of pastry and chocolate shops. It is a great place to sit at a cafe, relax, and people-watch.

There was a train strike so our plan to that the train to Bordeaux went out the window. Soulac-sur-Mer was a cute town but after 2 hours you have seen everything there is to see. This was the only day with nice weather were I took advantage of the pool deck water slides and the rope course.

Beautiful. We did a day trip to Bordeaux. Our guide provided a history of local vineyards. We had about two hours of free time in Bordeaux. We shopped and dined at a local French restaurant.

The Farmers Market was mind blowing. Sunday Mass at Notre Dame was epic.
