Kiel, Germany Port Reviews

We didn’t go into Hamburg, but decided to do a tour of Keil. We enjoyed an easy, relaxing visit and got to see the beach there in Kiel.

Terrible port. When you get off the ship you are in the red light district. Sex shops and tattoo parlors.

Very industrial city. Not pretty at all. Not much to do that was interesting. Would recommend dropping this port.

Wonderful easy walk to the centre from the ship.

Don't take tour to Hamburg. Stay in Kiel or close by. Lots to see locally.

Took ship excursion to Lubeck - On Your Own. Three hours on the bus and about two hours to visit the town. Too rushed and couldn't see some of the sights in Lubeck.

Me personally I didn’t like the Kiel very industrial city nothing to see.

Going through the submarine was great, better hope your back isn't hurting if you do go through, reason they don't have a lot of 6'-6" sailors on subs! The museum was extremely interesting showing the maritime history. Again, not enough time to read everything a see all the displays. We did not go into Hamburg although other did and liked their excursions. We wanted this hands-on opportunity.
