A wonderful port , steeped in history, this is where the sailings to the Americas started from ,making Cadiz the Western Europe's most affluent place, owing to the Gold and Silver which was bought back.A port with narrow streets and squares,a lovely Cathedral.Walk up the street next to it,and walk along to views of the Sea and Beach, wonder back down the winding alleyway's to have a drink in the little bars,or shop, but do not leave without going to the Fish Market,a sight not normally found at home, even have Tapas at one of the adjoining venues, miss at your peril.

we took the open bus tour that's just on the main road as you dock. this is the best way to see the sights and learn a little history of the place. it is also a short walk to the town and but buy a few things from the local market and shops. lovely little place.

Loved Cadiz, the fish market is an amazing sight must not be missed, and the fruit stalls are full of the most amazing fruit, the architecture is fabulous, would love to spend a couple of days there.

Having read previous reviews we headed for coletta beach the furthest away from the port on a hop on/ off bus. However we passed several other beaches on the way (think one was called Victoria) which were less crowded and more spacious, just as nice if not nicer with drink shacks along the way beds and brolleys to hire! We did get a bit stuck as traffic is 1 way, another reason I'd say go for the closer beaches.
