Walking tour was nice. There was a Good Friday procession that was nice. The wavy tiled walkway along the ocean was nice. Beach was packed for Easter break.

Did independent exploring. Great place for a beach day. A shuttle service is provided, that will bring you close to the beach.

First time we have visited Alicante on a cruise ship. A very pleasant experience. There is a lot to see and you can easily get around on foot. Unfortunately we ran out of time and will have to return at a later date to see the places that we missed this time.

Alicante wasn’t meant to be one of our ports of call but Genoa was cancelled due to dangerous weather conditions at sea, so this was the alternative. Very disappointed we couldn’t stop at Genoa as I had booked an excursion to see the very beautiful Portofino. Really did not enjoy Alicante at all. It’s one of those places I dislike - huge, built up, concrete jungle type of places. I much prefer smaller, quaint and picturesque and Alicante certainly isn’t that. We walked around but the majority of what we saw were endless coffee shops and all shops were closed - probably because we got off too early, I believe most shops open later in the morning. We did take the lift up to Santa Barbara castle (€2.70 each) views were great but only of the concrete jungle below us. We came back on board after a few hours out feeling somewhat disappointed. Not my type of place to visit at all.
