My favorite city! So beautiful! The Art Nouveau area is exquisite - I love beautiful buildings and this was a joy to walk around! The city is walkable, but to get to the far reaches, like the aquarium and its beach area or to the Sunnemore Museum, you will need to use a bus. Mt Aksla is on the bus routes but they aren't one way roads, so that can be an experience! The walk down is easier than up (418 stairs) but the view from the restaurant area are amazing and shouldn't be missed.

This was another good port, one we had visited previously. We chose the HAL excursion, Romsdal & The Troll Path, which lasted 8 hours. It was very worthwhile & interesting - plenty of scenery. We drove through Spjelkavik to Sjoholt Village. I enjoyed the shoreline of Storfjord along the road. We passed Stordal Church, and drove through Liabygd & Valldal. We drove the Troll Path passing a beautiful gorge. In the Trolltindene Mt. at Olav, we stopped for a Norwegian hot & cold buffet lunch. After lunch, we made hairpin bends in the road to Isterdalen Valley. We stopped at the Troll Wall. On our ride back to Alesund, we passed picturesque villages before crossing the Orskog Mt. It was a wonderful experience that i recommend.

We did no excursions here - just got out, took the little tourist train tour - and enjoyed the town. It's quite pretty.

We did the all day troll road tour through an independent company. I think it’s the same tour though that you can book through the ship as well. Only 3 people on our bus were not from our ship. Was a long day of driving but well worth the sites. Would 100% recommend the troll tour - the lunch stop seems a bit long compared to how much time you get at the troll road plateau but I guess the tour companies get a commission or something from the lunch stop.

I loved Alesund. So easy to explore as the port is immediately next to the town. It was well worth taking the steep steps to the viewpoint over Alesund and taking a stroll around town to see colourful architecture.

Great port - with excellent view a reward for walking up 400+ steps to overlook town (you can get their by the town road train as our parents did!) Also heated public benches - wow! Great fish & chips from a snack shack near the waterside.

We walked into this beautiful town as weather was decent. Waited our 11am bus 634 to Atlantic aquarium science centre, lovely outdoor area saw penquins & sea lions. On return we tried to go to Alesund museum but it closed at 3pm!

Walked the 418 steps up the top was totally worth it. Took the back route down follow the signs for town centre came across ww2 bunkers faces on trees was amazing. The sun came out which was added bonus. Great hilly scenic port

Lovely place to visit. We were lucky to have great weather. Definitely worth climbing the Fjellstua. Tip: On the way down don’t go back the same via the stairs but follow the signs for town center using the back route. Less people and wonderful views. Enjoy.
