Our excursion in this port was cancelled because of the virus scare in Northern Italy at the time; however, Savona is a lovely city. We disembarked and walked the streets and found a little outdoor cafe for lunch and some wine. We spent about 3 hours after that walking around and stopping at a bakery for yummy cookies and another outdoor café for wine. Very nice.

Carnival's "Best of Genoa" shore excursion is just ok. The focaccia and wine were served while visiting the Palazzo Rosso. However, the wine was served on plastic cups not on a "glass" as described on Carnival's website.

Pleasant enough place to wander around but not hugely exciting. We went for a walk around the town and explored the fort. Excellent gelato to be had!
